Zenith Delivers DR Done Right!

July 20, 2007 – 4:10 pm

While I’m not a big fan of Zenith for my own reasons, I must give them props for being the first in the SMB space to deliver such a great disaster recovery solution.  We are talking 60GB warm fail-over to headless NAS in under 1 hour with off site backups forever… Now that is near PFM!  Go here to check out a demo

All I can say now is come on SC, let’s get this stuff out there for everybody!

  2. Besides the Zenith offering, have you found any other offerings available that combine image-based backups, P2V and V2P restores, and offsite image storage?

The Zenith offering is definitely interesting, but part of the system depends on their involvement, which can get good in the sense that it’s one more thing we don’t have to worry about, but bad if they’re not competent, timely etc. Also, they require that one of their server care packages be in place on each of the servers being backed up, which starts to blur the lines between their disaster recover solution and their other managed service offerings.

  3. I’ve been told by Zenith that they will be releasing a version that does not require their service desk.
