Why Autotask? While I was very happy running Tech Care Team, Inc., this was a rare opportunity to put the many community and vendor relationships I’ve built within this channel to use for the good of the community. This is time in our channel where technical innovation coupled with newly evolving business models have collided with an economic “reset”. A time where the synergy of partnerships forged between competing and complimenting VARs and their perspective vendors will mean the difference between success or failure for many. I believe that Autotask, as the leading PSA, is very much positioned to be a catalyst and support system for many of those partnerships.
Also, I’ll have you know, after having worked in startups for the past 14 years and owning my own company for the past 10 years I wouldn’t go to work for just anyone. Over the past 5 years as an Autotask customer and occasional advisor I’ve never been more impressed by a company. From their leadership, to their management style, to their culture, their mission, vision and values are all clear and evident within their entire organization. They are an amazingly organized and well-managed company, especially considering the fast paced tech market they serve. It is an honor to be a part of their team.
As a PSA solution, Autotask is by far better positioned to deliver custom tailored solution via vendor partners than any of their competitors. While the bells and whistles may vary from PSA to PSA, Autotask is the only leading PSA built entirely hosted and platform independent thus making it both agile enough and saleable enough to deliver the variety and complexity of integration scenarios the emerging, and soon to be dominate, cloud based vendors need for their partners. It is my vision to see large partner driven channel vendors align with Autotask to help their partners better sell, support and manage their solutions.
When it comes to community, my vision for the customers and vendor partners of Autotask is for them to have an amazingly thriving and active community where members feel like a part of the family and a part of the bigger purpose of Autotask – to help each other run our businesses, better. An active and cohesive community of IT pros and vendors is not always easy to collect but based on the Autotask users I already know, the many I’ve seen step forward to selflessly give via the forums and events, I’ve now doubt we have the makings for something great. From user groups to peer groups, from spontaneous online Autotask CommunITy conversations to big National and International events, we can and will see how powerful and impacting community can be on businesses as each of us becomes a more and more engaged participant.
