April 16, 2008 – 8:00 amThanks Susan for the reprimand and reminder to all that patching has it’s common sense rules and responsibilities. If you patch on behalf of your customers, don’t get lazy and just approve all. Yesterday I spent time with a very stressed customer reinstalling .NET 2.0 so they could use QuickBooks to finish taxes. Live, learn, change and grow.

Mark, yes a critical lesson to learn eh!
We have been there before as well, the challenge is this, when will vendors and ISV’s keep up with the changes in technology. We have an Oil and Gas ISV (a big one as well) still on .NET 1.x, so we can’t even get them to Windows Vista.
And Vista has the bad name…
Come on ISV’s get with the program.
