Autotask Launches New Community Portal
October 10, 2007 – 10:56 amLate last night while I was dreaming about Faith Hill driving a mini-van (I’ll save that for another blog - or not), the folks at Autotask launched three new sites. The launched the new UI for current users that really really helps us in managing our tickets (THANK YOU!!!), a new Autotask Go! product/service and last but not least they launched a Community Portal.
The new Autotask Community Portal (ACP) is rich in Web 2.0 features that if embraced by Autotask users should prove a success. In the ACP you will find Blogs (internal for members and feeds from outside blogs), Forums and Polls. I’ve already dived head-first into the Features Request Forum and debated with several others the validity of adding more cross-browser support and the discussion is lively.
Now I’ve seen major software vendors with great intentions launch community portals and had their investments completely fail. The reasons vary but are usually do to top-down thinking when designing the portals. I can assure you that Autotask built this site based on much feedback and guidance from their users.
My rating of the new ACP? I give it 5 of 5 stars. Well done Jesse!
If you are one of the 15,000 Autotask user then I expect to see you there.
