Dell Plans VaaS MSP Offering

Wow! So I mentioned it last week that VaaS was right around the corner but I didn’t realize Michael Dell was one of my seven readers. ;-) So what did you expect from the largest direct distributor of PCs that now owns a major managed services platform? Dell’s first (it won’t be the last) move into managed services will apparently be a “gold plated” VaaS move into the enterprise space reports Information Week.
Dell says their new offering can help companies cut IT Labor costs by 56%. Hey wait a minute! Wasn’t that your paycheck? So if Dell can do it why can’t you? Still looking for a reason to take the plunge into managed services? Still think partnering to deliver SaaS is too risky? If so, you better call your local community college and talk to a career counselor about your options because
the managed services space has a brand spanking new Wal*Mart opening up and it’s right next door to you.
I’ve heard that Dell has declined to participate in the next big Garnter Channel event (I’ll be there this weekend) as they are still licking their wounds for when they asked the channel if we trust them. To me, the fact that they are not attending sort of validates that distrust.
So do you still believe Dell is Reseller friendly? If you hesitated or said no then why in the H*11 are you still selling their products to their soon to be your customers?!?!
